Summer of Cycling Event
As part of Brighton and Hove Council’s Summer of Cycling Celebration, Brighton Bike Project ran a number of activities:

Bite-sized Bike Maintenance Workshops
30 minute bite sized lessons ran by She Rides trained volunteers.  We offered members of the public a chance to learn some basic bike maintenance skills through these workshops.  14 people signed up for workshops, plus when the workshops were not running the girls offered 1:1 tuition to 6 additional people on their own bikes.   The main request was learn to fix a puncture.

Dr Bike
Dr Bike is an opportunity for members of the public to have their bike checked over by our Bike Doctors. We fix punctures, tune gears, fit new brake blocks and replace cables. We also give out lots of helpful and impartial advice about bike care and maintenance.  At the Summer of Cycling event our Bike Doctors saw 66 bikes.

Our cycle surgery is fun and practical. We will get bikes working smoothly and safely, which is the first step to getting more people cycling.

Have a go ‘Whacky Bikes’
Brighton Bike Project work with Whacky Bike inventor Dan Pritchard, part of the Circus Kinetica Cooperative to offer members of the public the chance to try out Whacky Wonder Bikes.
